"Journalist Silvia Techera, who works for Uruguayan news outlets Subrayado and La Voz de Melo, received a death threat through her Facebook account. According to the message, the threat was motivated by something Techera posted regarding a person who had committed a crime.
According to what the Ministry of Interior informed La Diaria (Uruguayan news outlet), the message was received on the night of July 19 and, afterwards, Techera filed a complaint. The Cerro Largo (department of north-eastern Uruguay) Police Headquarters informed the prosecutor's office and began an investigation to find the perpetrator or perpetrators. At the same time, police protection was arranged for Techera."
