Venezuela: Cases of media access restriction during Nov. 21 elections

"Voting for mayors and governors began with complaints from the media and journalists covering elections and present at voting centers throughout Venezuela.

Espacio Publico registered a total of 27 cases which equaled 53 freedom of expression violations in Aragua, Lara, Táchira, Mérida, Nueva Esparta, Sucre, Guárico, Portuguesa, Carabobo, Falcón, Bolívar, Caracas, Trujillo, and Cojedes.

Intimidation, harassment, and attacks were the most frequent acts against media workers on Nov. 21. Members of Venezuela's Republic Plan and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence were the officials who carried out the greatest violations of freedom of expression."
