Journalist Nakary Ramos, who works for Impacto Venezuela, has been missing since April 8, when she was filming a report in Plaza Venezuela, Caracas. Her family does not know her whereabouts and fears she may be detained due to her work.
The reported detention comes a day after Venezuela News published an article—signed by Ramos—criticizing Impacto Venezuela's reporting on an alleged rise in thefts in Caracas.
Ramos was with her partner, Gianni González, at the time of her disappearance. The couple has a 5-year-old daughter.
Venezuela’s National Press Workers’ Union has called on authorities to disclose whether the two are in custody and to guarantee their rights.
