“Journalist Raúl Celis López, a well-known radio host in Iquitos, Peru, was shot and killed this morning (May 7) by suspected hitmen as he arrived riding in a motorcycle taxi to his workplace in downtown Iquitos.
The murder occurred shortly after Celis López stopped to buy a newspaper. As the motorcycle taxi continued toward the radio station where Celis López worked, it was approached by two men on a motorcycle. One of them got off and shot him point-blank in the back of the neck.
The suspected gunmen were hooded and fled the scene at high speed to an unknown location.”
