"The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo maintains a campaign of harassment and surveillance against the families of exiled Nicaraguan journalists, denounced the Foundation for Freedom of Expression and Democracy (FLED, for its acronym in Spanish), based in San José, Costa Rica.
In its most recent report, the organization documented testimonies of intimidation by pro-government fanatics and police agents. Some journalists have chosen to censor themselves or abandon reporting to protect their loved ones."
