Judge prohibits journalist from speaking about governor of Campeche, Mexico

"The interim control judge of Campeche, Ana Maribel de Atocha Huitz May, prohibited journalist Jorge González Valdez from commenting or publishing about Governor Layda Sansores and ordered that a 'censor' or judicial intervenor review and approve each publication that he and the newspaper Tribuna make about the state leader.

According to Tribuna, the judge approved these new precautionary measures in the governor's lawsuit against the journalist and the media outlet. The ruling establishes the 'judicial intervention of the digital platform' and warns González Valdez that he must refrain from making statements, expressing opinions, or publishing images that refer to Sansores.

The order also specifies that the journalist must be accompanied by an 'official censor' when participating in media programs, under the supervision of the Precautionary Measures Unit, the media outlet reported."
