Witnesses to the incident said the reporter had gone to broadcast live the event where a man was murdered in the Municipio Libre neighborhood, and although he remained within the limits established by the authorities, a person followed him as he left the crime scene.

He said that the assailant had already threatened him at the scene, telling him to stop recording. It was then that he realized the man was armed, so he decided to gather his belongings and leave."
