Brazilian long-time columnist stabbed to death

Carlos Curcio, a columnist for the Brazilian newspaper Jornal Cidade, was found dead on the morning of Oct. 13, in his apartment in Rio Claro, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, reported the website Terra.

Curcio was found with broken teeth and there were signs of struggle at the scene. Police believe he was stabbed to death and the victim knew the killer, since there were no signs of forced entry, reported EPTV.

According to the news site G1, the journalist was found after his car was seen abandoned in the neighborhood of Recanto, in the outskirts of the city. Curcio wrote the social column for Jornal Cidade for 26 years.
