Brazil's military police attacked journalists covering a workers' protest on Nov. 24, in front of Johnson & Johnson's offices in São José dos Campos, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, reported the website Agora Vale.
According to the Professional Journalists Union of the State of São Paulo, freelancer Luca Lacaz Ruiz was hit with pepper spray and Nilton Cardin of ADC News was beaten with a baton. "I didn't have time to react, not even to photograph the one who attacked me," said Ruiz, according to Agora Vale.
Th union criticized the police's aggressive actions against journalists and workers who have been on strike since Nov. 22.
