Brazilians to discuss future of digital journalism at international seminar in São Paulo

Reporters, editors, academics and developers who are highly involved in producing digital news will meet in São Paulo May 29, 2010, for the First International Seminar on Online Journalism. The event is organized by the Knight Center for Journalism in the AmericasFaculdade Cásper Líbero, and the Brazilian chapter of the Online News Association, a U.S. organization.

Presenters will discuss several aspects involved in the future of digital journalism: interactive databases, algorithms, news generated by the public, mobile digital platforms, and narrative journalism for internet. Participants will also discuss the possibility of forming a Brazilian association of online journalists.

Participants include representatives of The New York Times, El País, BBC, MSN, Folha de S. Paulo, Estadão, Globo, Exame, Veja, Zero Hora, Jornal do Commercio, UOL, iG, G1 e Terra, as well as the Brazilian Association for Investigative Journalism (Abraji) and the ONA.
