"The National Union of Press Workers of Venezuela (SNTP, for its initials in Spanish) reported this Saturday [Dec. 21, 2024] the release of journalist Ana Carolina Guaita, detained on Aug. 2 in the midst of the post-election crisis after the proclaimed victory of Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections.

Through X, the SNTP recalled that Guaita — who works for the Venezuelan digital media outlet La Patilla — was imprisoned for more than four months and was accused of terrorism, instigation of hatred and obstruction of public roads."
