By Ingrid Bachmann

A group of people in a car threw five Molotov cocktails at the headquarters of the Capriles newspaper chain, one of Venezuela's leading media conglomeratesTal Cual and Últimas Noticias report.

The building in a northern neighborhood of Caracas houses the newspapers Últimas Noticias, Líder, El Mundo and Urbe. No injuries or damages were reported in the Monday night attack, and the bombs failed to explode. However, one of them fell between two gas canisters on the roof of the building.

Erys Alvarado, managing editor of Últimas Noticias, reported that authorities were investigating the attack. He asked for greater security for the building and its employees and reiterated that the newspaper is independent and open to all political perspectives.
