Int’l. Online Journalism Symposium unites journalists, scholars and media executives

Participants and speakers from more than 20 countries in the Americas, Europe and Africa took part in the 11th International Symposium on Online Journalism, co-sponsored by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.

The annual event has been organized since 1999 by Professor Rosental Calmon Alves, the Knight Chair in International Journalism and UNESCO Chair in Communication, with support from UT Austin’s College of Communication and School of Journalism.

The program featured panels on mobile news, newspaper survival strategies in the digital era, trends in interactivity, participatory journalism, nonprofit journalism, and international experiences in the field.
