Mexican newspaper journalist held at mayor's office, forced to reveal source

The deputy director of a local newspaper in Mexico said that he was detained for an hour in the mayor's office, where he was forced to reveal his source for a news story, reported the Center for Journalism and Public Ethics (CEPET in Spanish).

Juan Carlos Flores Haro, deputy director of the publication Informativo Comunicador de Nayarit, said that he was held at the municipal building at the port of San Blas, on the western side of Mexico. His cell phone was taken away and he was interrogated for an hour and forced to reveal his source for the story titled "Adventures of Porfirio López ‘After,’" reported the site AZ Noticias.
