Luis García Heras and Sandro Malca Baca, two reporters with the station Radio Armonía in Peru, said they received death threats from another station's owner and radio host, reported the Press and Society Institute.
The reporters said the threats were in response to their reporting on supposed irregularities in a city-sponsored festival organized by Estrella Pizarro, councilor for the city of Casa Grande in the eastern department of La Libertad. Pizarro is also the daughter of the radio host Leónidas Pizarro, owner of Radio Casa Grande, according to the news site Chicama.
