TV Globo photographer shot to death in Rio

By Maira Magro

TV Globo photographer Márcio Alexandre de Souza, 36 years old, was shot and killed Sunday morning, June 20, in São Cristóvão, in the northern zone of Rio de Janeiro, reported the newspaper O Globo.

The shots were fired by people from inside of a car. Souza, who worked on the channel's soap operas, had gone to that zone to take one of his children to a soccer game.

Police said the motive could be revenge, reported O Globo. According to G1, one hypothesis is that the attack was by drug traffickers from Morro do Tuiuti.
