"The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE, by its acronym in Portuguese) unanimously decided this Thursday, April 23, to open a process to investigate Google for alleged excessive use of news without authorization from journalistic outlets, with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
The case originated in CADE itself, which saw the need to deepen the investigations into the competitive conditions of the search market and Google's use of AI-generated content.
The administrative process reopened on Thursday will investigate the company's conduct and the impact of its actions on the journalistic market. The judgment may result in administrative sanctions for economic infraction."
