At least six journalists injured during ‘Gen-Z’ protests in Mexico

“Demonstrations by self-identified 'Generation Z' protesters in several Mexican cities on Saturday, Nov. 15, were marred by violence and attacks by security forces against the press, leaving at least six journalists injured and one detained.

The most severe aggression was reported in in Morelia, capital of the state of Michoacán. At least four journalists were injured after state civil guard officers — identified as National Guard officers in some reports — intervened. Among the injured were journalist Liliana Jiménez Nieto, who sustained injuries to the face, and photographer Jafet Pineda, who was beaten and handcuffed.”
