In total, the Network documented 2,484 alerts affecting 3,230 victims across 17 countries in the region. Lethal violence claimed the lives of 23 journalists (9 more than in 2024), equivalent to one murder every 16 days. The monitoring confirms that the State remains the primary aggressor: one in every two attacks was perpetrated by state actors."
