Judge in Honduras prevents TV reporter from entering courtroom with camera for hearing where he was claimant

A judge in Honduras refused entry to a television reporter wanting to attend the court hearing for a lawsuit that he himself had filed against a Catholic leader who assaulted him, reported the organization C-Libre.

Journalist Luis Ortiz, from Channel 36 Cholusat Sur, said that authorities stopped him from entering with a video camera and cell phone to the hearing that was held at the offices of the archbishop of Tegucigalpa, on behalf of the Catholic chancellor Carlo Magno Núñez who was given diplomatic privileges for his religious investiture, explained IFEX.

Ortiz explained to C-Libre that he was “afraid of entering an unfamiliar place without a camera," especially when there were armed men protecting his aggressor.
