A Mexican reporter was found dead in the trunk of his car in the city of Cuernavaca, about 52 miles from Mexico City, reported the news agency AFP.
State authorities identified the body of René Orta Salgado, who until December 2011 worked as a journalist for the newspaper El Sol de Cuernavaca, reported the newspaper Vanguardia. His face was covered with a bandana but his body had no gunshot wounds, reported Fox News.
At the time of his killing, Orta was head of the political group Emprendedores por la Nación, which supports presidential candidate Enrique Peña Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, according to Proceso.
