A Honduran radio journalist was shot and killed in the city Villanueva, in western Honduras, reported the Committee for Free Expression (C-Libre).
Adonis Felipe Bueso Gutiérrez, age 24, was a reporter and anchor for the news program Noticias de la Tarde for the christian radio station Radio Stereo Naranja in Sonaguera, Colón, and was killed while vacationing in Villanueva on Sunday, July 8, according to the newspaper El Heraldo.
The authorities of the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Villanueva said that theft was the motive behind the crime; and according to the preliminary investigations, there are three young individuals involved, according to the newspaper La Prensa.
In 2012, the organization C-Libre recorded six Honduran journalist killings. Honduras is the second-most dangerous country in the American continent for the press.
