Brazilian journalist killed during robbery

Brazilian journalist Walter Pimentel died after being shot in the head during a robbery at a grocery store in São Paulo, reported Folha.com.

According to witnesses, four hooded people entered the store to steal from the registers. Pimentel, 43 years old and a journalist at Gazeta Esportiva.net, was trying to leave the store when the thieves grabbed him by the arms, forced him to his knees, and shot him in the head, explained the newspaper Estado de São Paulo. Supposedly the journalist was confused with a security guard.

Although taken to a hospital, the journalist did not survive. His funeral was held Aug. 7.

According to Gazeta Esportiva, no details have been released about those responsible for the crime, but police hope to identify the killers using security cameras from the grocery store, added Último Segundo.
