IAPA mission to evaluation press freedom in Peru

By Maira Magro

The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) reports that its delegation will discuss alleged irregularities in the sale of América TV, the cancellation of radio station La Voz de Bagua's broadcast license, and crimes against journalists during its May 20-21 visit.

In its meetings with President Alan García and other authorities, the team also plans to discuss the conviction of editor Alejandro Carrascal Carrasco for defamation and impunity in the killing of journalist Alberto Rivera Fernández. The findings will be released in a press conference on the 21st.
