Journalist Clara Fernández died after being shot in the head on Feb. 23 in the northern city of Valencia, Canal de Noticia reports.
Fernández was shot in the head in the middle of a gun fight as one armed group attempted to flee from another, Dario Región explains.
The details surrounding the death are still not entirely clear, and Venezuela’s National Journalism Guild (CNP) condemned the violence and urged state authorities to investigate the case.
