"Venezuela's National Union of Press Workers (SNTP, for its initials in Spanish) denounced this Monday [April 20] that a court denied the termination of the case against journalist and former political prisoner Carlos Julio Rojas, following a delay of more than a month in responding to his request for amnesty.

In a message posted on X, the union noted that the First Trial Court on Terrorism Matters denied the dismissal of the case against Rojas, who had been charged with crimes such as criminal association, terrorism, conspiracy and attempted assassination.

'Two months after the promulgation of the Amnesty Law, at least eight journalists and press workers remain subject to judicial proceedings,' the professional association noted."
