At least 319 attacks against the press recorded during Salvadoran elections

“The Association of Journalists of El Salvador (Apes, for its acronym in Spanish) recorded at least 319 attacks against the press in the last general elections, the majority during the presidential votes, according to a report presented this Tuesday [March 5] by representatives of the entity.

Data from the Apes Electoral Monitoring Center indicate that 224 violations were reported in the presidential and legislative elections on Feb. 4 and 95 in the municipal and the Central American Parliament elections on March 3.”
