Brazilian federal government launches public call to support more than 800 community radio stations

["The Brazilian federal government launched] an unprecedented initiative within the scope of public policies aimed at community communication: the Cultura Viva public call, of sponsorship in the form of cultural support for community radio stations.

The unprecedented call was published today [Sept. 12] by Secom, the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, and the Ministry of Culture.

Applicants can register from Sept. 16 to Oct. 7, 2024 through the Mapa da Cultura system, through the link mapcultura.gov.br.

The investment will be R$2 million (about US $363,000) and may include more than 800 radio stations, already registered by Secom. The list of radio stations that can compete for support can be consulted in the decree from May 15, 2024."
