Ministry of the Interior admits 55 journalists were murdered in Mexico during the current government

"Since Andrés Manuel López Obrador assumed the presidency in Dec. 2018, 55 journalists have been murdered in Mexico, which exceeds the data recorded in the middle of the six-year term of both Felipe Calderón and Enrique Peña Nieto.

According to reports from the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), 252 press workers have been executed from December 2006 to March 8, 2022. Of these, 220 were men and 32 women. However, when comparing three particular years of the last two administrations with that of the current president, the number has been surpassed."
