“UOL reporter and columnist Thiago Herdy was followed, and his tax records, address, and family details were exposed in an anonymous post published on a website hosted on the Wix platform. The defamatory post gives details on Herdy’s daily routine—such as when he leaves home in his car—and includes photos of his traveling within the city, indicating he was under surveillance.
The post also reveals information from his income tax return, which is protected by tax confidentiality laws, and references investigative reports he co-authored with other UOL journalists on suspected irregularities in emergency contracts signed during the first administration of São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
A link to the website was shared Friday in a WhatsApp group used by employees of Nunes’ office and the city's Department of Urban Infrastructure and Works (Siurb), which oversees emergency construction contracts.”
