"Once again, Free Press Unlimited will honour two outstanding journalists: Most Resilient Journalist and Newcomer of the Year. These awards celebrate extraordinary courage, perseverance, and fresh talent in the fight for press freedom and independent information. Registration for the 2025 edition is now open and the deadline for nominations is Nov. 2, 2025.
The Newcomer of the Year – Hans Verploeg Award is presented to a promising journalist with a maximum of four years of experience. The winner receives a media scholarship of their choice. The Most Resilient Journalist award is awarded to a journalist who has shown exceptional bravery and perseverance under difficult circumstances. The winner receives a cash prize.
