"The Union of Professional Journalists of the State of Piauí (Sindjor-PI, for its acronym in Portuguese) and the National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ) give their full solidarity with the reporting team of TV Clube, an affiliate of Rede Globo, and vehemently condemn the attitude of lawyer Jader Veloso, who attempted to impede the professional activity of journalist and cameraman Fernando Cardoso. The incident occurred on the morning of this Thursday (Nov. 6, 2025), on the premises of the Public Security Secretariat of Piauí, in Teresina.
Cameraman Fernando Cardoso was filming businessman Haran Santhiago Girão leaving after giving testimony as part of Operation Hidden Carbon 86, which is investigating a criminal scheme involving gas stations allegedly linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) faction. During the coverage, the lawyer tried to stop the filming and, in a brusque manner, almost knocked over the cameraman's equipment.
