‘Inside the Newsroom’ series kicks off with a look at how AI is changing journalism in Latin America

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is proud to announce “Inside the Newsroom,” a new virtual series addressing innovation and opportunities in Latin American journalism.

As a reflection of its enormous impact on the industry, the first two roundtables in this series will be dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI).

During “Inside the Newsroom: How AI is transforming journalism,” leading Latin American journalists and digital innovators will discuss how their work is being affected by AI and how their newsrooms are adopting these technologies.

“AI is no longer a future trend for journalism; it is a present reality,” said Filipa Rodrigues, Knight Center online courses manager. “Journalists across Latin America are navigating rapid technological change, and AI is at the center of many of these conversations. Our roundtables offer an opportunity to hear directly from newsroom leaders who are testing, questioning and implementing AI in their newsrooms. By sharing real experiences, we hope to support thoughtful, ethical and creative approaches to AI across the region.”
