Brazilian journalist Karen Santiago was kidnapped the evening of Jan. 19 while photographing flooding in a neighborhood in the city of São Paulo, reported Jornal na Net.
Santiago was tackled and forced into her vehicle. The express kidnapping lasted almost an hour. The carjackers held the journalist at gunpoint in the back seat of her car, according to the website Imprensa.
The reporter's car and belongings were stolen, including photography equipment, a recorder, computer, and cellphone.
