AMARC Uruguay rejects the threats from authorities of the new government about the closure of community radio stations

“The Uruguay chapter of the World Association of Community Radio Stations (AMARC-Uruguay) rejected the threats from the National Director of Telecommunications, Dr. Guzmán Acosta y Lara, regarding the imminent closure of community radio stations in the country.

It also demanded that the ‘Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining explain the statements of its director and the policy that he will carry out and that the National Director of Telecommunications explain his statements immediately’.”
