Journalist injured in the middle of demonstrations in Bogotá, Colombia

“Last Thursday, Sept. 9, there were strong demonstrations in Bogotá in response to the one year anniversary of the murder of Javier Ordóñez. In the midst of riots, vandalism and clashes with the Mobile Anti-riot Squad of the National Police (Esmad), it was learned that a photojournalist was injured with a projectile.

RCN reported that Inaldo Pérez Castillo, a photojournalist for RCN Radio who covered the demonstration in the town of Bosa, was hit with a stone that he was unable to evade. Without remedy, the man received the blow to his face, leaving him with a deep wound in the area below the nose."
