Nicaraguan police arrest journalist Orlando Chavez after raiding his home

“Police from Daniel Ortega's regime detained journalist Orlando Chávez Esquivel, from [the city of] León, after raiding his house on the night of Sunday, May 19, as the organization Alertas Libertad de Prensa reported on social networks.

Chávez is director of the news program 'El Metropolitano,' which is broadcast Monday through Friday on La Consentida radio station, in the city of León.

Alertas Libertad de Prensa reported in its publication that after Chávez's relatives complained about the raid and detention, 'his siblings Obed and Merary Chávez Esquivel were also arrested by the uniformed officers.'”
