“In the last three days, journalist [Mary Karla Ares from ICLEP] has been subjected to intense interrogation every five and ten minutes throughout the night with every intention of torturing her, preventing her from sleeping.
'Mary Karla is being subjected to psychological torture, they told me that they take her out every five minutes, every ten minutes at night, at dawn, that they are not letting her sleep,' the journalist's father, Carlos Alberto Ares, told ICLEP.

The journalist was arrested on April 30, for reporting live on the police aggression against peaceful protesters who asked to see the leader of the San Isidro Movement, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, who was on a hunger and thirst strike at home."
